Foam Roofing: the Best Choice for Your Property
Your roof system has more direct contact with sunlight and rain than any other part of your property. For this reason, selecting the right roof system has serious potential for saving energy and reducing maintenance expense. We only recommend installing solar panels over a roof that will last at least 30 years. Dura-Foam roofs installed since 1981 have continued to reduce heating/cooling costs and perform leak-free. Roof life can be extended for a lifetime by periodically upgrading surface coatings (typically once every 20 years).
Dura-Foam directs water to the drain with tapered contours.
In addition to savings on heating/cooling and long-term leak-proof protection, your foam roof will also increase the efficiency of your solar array. Dura-Foam Roofs are “Cool Roof” systems that reflect heat and reduce Urban Heat Island effect. Coincidentally, solar panels work most efficiently under cool conditions. When cool, solar panels generate more electricity because electrical resistance losses are minimized in the absence of heat. Furthermore, solar panels absorb light reflected off of Cool Roofs thus augmenting electrical production.

SPF Foam Roofing Systems
Sprayed Polyurethane foam roofing (SPF Roofing) is an excellent insulator, meets and exceeds building code requirements, and is a form of energy efficient green construction. The roofs are very durable and last substantially longer than other roof systems with little or no maintenance. Dura-Foam roofs easily support heavy foot traffic. SPF Roofs are mostly ideal on flat and low slope roofs, although there may be some exceptions. SPF is the quintessential roofing material because it is thick (typically 1.5″ or more) and 100% waterproof. It’s a rigid spray applied polyurethane based plastic that repels water, insulates, and remains flexible for the life of the building. Learn more about the Dura-Foam Roofing System here.

Can foam roof achieve R30 requirements?
Yes, foam roofing can meet any R-value requirement. For R-30, we typically apply elastomeric coatings over 1.5″ spray polyurethane foam over 4″ rigid insulation board for a total roof thickness of 5.5″ (not including the underlying structure).
